Come to an End

The things of this world are so short-lived. Pain, sadness, wars, confusion... It's all temporary when you are in Christ and you have assurance of salvation. Psalm 37:2 says "For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb." Let us not look at what will soon disappear but at Him that is eternal.

And So It Is Here

God sees me in the places that I have fallen and He arrives. And so it is here that I have fallen and yet it is the same place that He has picked me up. It is a time of desperation. Calling out to the only one that is the true and faithful savior. The weight that the world brings is so great. It almost holds down my chest so I can't get enough air to call out. But He comes to me where I am and brings His grace of rescue.

If Awake is in Question

There are those who give such a strong appearance of faith. Their mask is so believable. They seem to be awake with open eyes but they are just drifting away further and further. The ocean will take those who give into its current but there is hope in seeing that there is rescue. Cease this sightless wandering and truly open your eyes. Let go of temptation and take hold of the solid rock.

All That Isn't You

Yet another prayer of repentance. This is just seeing myself becoming so distracted by the world's holds and temptations. This realization tends to lead to the feeling of uncleanliness and so my prayer is just to separate myself from the things that are not of Him.

Another prayer for rescue. This song is a few years old. God's calling on my life often brings a collision between my plans and His. This is about recognizing the places that I fall short and asking for Him to bring His sweet grace and fill me again.

Fly to Me

Constantly I feel the weight of my own sin and I strive to remove it without realizing that I can't do it alone. I often live with the mindset of "I got myself in this mess so I should be able to get myself out". Sin is poison. It causes us to be unclean and unhealthy. But even though it is so bad for me, I keep drinking it in. We need to repent and turn but we can't do it without Him. We can't get off the ground unless He flies to us..
